Lightning Ridge Mine in New South Wales, Australia is home to some of the most dazzling scientific discoveries in the world, opalized dinosaur fossils. Opal Dinos is an exhibition at The Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History that showcases the rare prehistoric gems and teaches audiences about their formation. The exhibition logo was thoughtfully created with custom altered typography, made to mimic the formation of opalized fossils. The elements of the brand are carried throughout the exhibition catalogue, including type treatment, color choices and custom illustrations.
